What to Expect
Know the difference between normal healing and signs that need attention.
Normal Healing Signs
- Mild swelling for the first few days
- Light bleeding or bruising initially
- Clear or light yellowish fluid (lymph) crusting around the jewelry
- Slight tenderness or itchiness as it heals
- Occasional "flare-ups" even months into healing
When to Contact Us
- Increasing redness, swelling, or pain after the first week
- Thick, dark yellow or green discharge (pus)
- Red streaks radiating from the piercing
- Fever or chills
- Jewelry embedding into the skin
- Persistent bleeding beyond the first day
If you experience any of these symptoms, contact us immediately or visit a healthcare provider. Do not remove the jewelry yourself — this can trap infection inside.
